I have some problem of icons when installing Thunderbird under Windows 7. It seems that after some time, the Thunderbird icon on the task bar and start menu would disappear and being replaced with some generic icon. After some search, I found this blog, which seems to explain the problem. Windows have a problem in its icon cache database that causes this problem. The solution is to deleted the icon cache and Windows will regenerate it correctly.
